Should DirecTV offer a HD only package

Easy question. Should D* offer a package that just offers the HD channels. Maybe at a cheaper price. With SD being unwatchable after the HD experience I never really wanted to watch anything in SD anymore. What do you guys feel. and please no arguments about today's expansion.

I wouldn't mind it except there are still a few SD channels which I need around my house. Boomerang and Noggin come to mind off hand..
I voted "No. Not interested " for two reasons.

1) There are still some channels I watch that are not offered in HD.

2) I still watch the SD version of channels and I use stretch format for SD channels so it fills the screen because I hate the bars on non 16x9 HD programs.

Agreed.

Perhaps if this poll is re-introduced in 6 months...the results might be different.
Why would anyone vote no? You could still get the regular packages if you wanted the SD, just like E*'s new HD only plans.

Naustrodominus predicts that someday all channels will be in Holovision. standard deg and HD will then seem pale in comparison
My answer is not until Comedy Central is HD... ;)

Tho there are a few other channels the family watches that are still HD.

Cheers,
Tom
Dishs was great, so I say yes. Id have have stuck with the Dish $50/mo package if not for the soft PQ.

But not necessarily both....hence the word ONLY.
I think they should have. If they ever do, it'll be too late for me..at least for a couple years. Going Bronze on the 23rd.
Every channel I watch is already in an HD version, fine by me.

I got three things by sticking with D*:

1) Better HD PQ
2) A bunch of crappy PQ sd channels I dont watch
3) A bill thats $35/mo higher

Keep in mind Im not complaining, but for many the HD only package is a good thing.
Vopted NO There are still some channels I watch that are not offered in HD
Heres what I dont get. WHy would people who want both care if D* offered an HD only pack? People can still get SD in other packages.

All we watch in my House is HD so the answer is a no brainer!
No. Not interested.
with the launch today, absoluletly everything I watch will be HD..
People, this is not a poll about whether you want it or not, its about whether they should offer it. Whats a negative to offering it?? It allows them to compete on price with DIsh, and as more channels come up more would switch. There is no con to D* adding hd only packages.

I voted No, because of the choice of answers. If there was a "Yes, but I wouldn't subscribe," I would have checked that.
If all of DirecTVs packages stayed basically the same (and you still got the HD versions of whatever SD channels were in your package) and they ADDED an additional package that accessed only the HD channels, I wouldn't care - fine by me.

I'd most likely continue to subscribe to my current package. But if others wanted the HD only package, more power to 'em.
