Should I go back to the HR10-250 (Tivo) Model from HR20?

I'm having a few problems:

New Recordings Deleted without Prompting
Freezing
Locked onto a channel and not recording scheduled shows.

Due to these 3 major problems, I'm thinking of going back to the HR10 Tivo Model. I know I am giving up the MPEG 4 and have to get another antenna for the local HD channels.

QUESTION: Should I go back or stay with the HR20?

Thanks guys.

My opinion...

Wait for the next software release (which should be soon).
And see if that resolves your issues... If it doesn't...

Then... sure, you have all the right in the world to go back to your HR10
Or you can have both of them hooked up at the same time.

Really, only you can answer that question for yourself.

As for what is in MPEG4: Right now only HD locals and your HD RSN. Any new national HD channels will be in MPEG4. And very soon they will convert all current HD to MPEG4 as well. Probably 2 years or less on that.

So then the HR10 would only be able to record OTA and SD channels.

So the question to you is why don't you just use both receivers? There is no reason to use only 1. Use both, record critical things on the HR10 until the HR20 becomes stable for you.

Every time Earl has indicated a new update is coming, he won't say when, but it always seems to drop that night.;)

OTA???:)
No OTA this time around for certain.
And as for "tonight"... Hopefully... but not certain

Thanks Scott and others for the reply,

I appreciate the feedback. I was curious what others would do. I know Earl recommends to keep the HR20 and hope the new software updates will solve the problem...

I only have the HR20 for the time being, Directv is sending me a HR10 for another $300, If I keep the HR20, that's still another $300 (they will refund $300 once I return 1 of them). Don't really want to keep both if I can avoid it.

You guys really like reading into my words.
As of right now, the current build that is in testing has not been authorized for release to the customers.

So until that happens......

I have both the HR10 and the HR20 hocked up to the same TV. My preference is to use the HR10 not because of the bugs with the HR20, although they are getting old and in my opinion should have been fixed by now. It is because of 30 second skip and dual buffers, I never realized how much I used these features until I started using the HR20.

Poll: Do you hate polls ?

Yes.

Do we really need a poll about everything ?

Who's happy with the HR20 ?
Should I get the HR20 ?
Should I go back to the HR10-250 ?
Has your HR20 locked up ?
