I have downloaded a VOD during a freeview. The expiration date has varied in the past. I have seen it end on the final day. Other times, much later. We will just have to wait and see.

I just found the press release that says VOD is included in the preview.
The email I received from DirecTV says "Channels 545-558 and On Demand 1545 & 1546" with the following note
*[You must be a digital cable subscriber to Showtime to receive Showtime On Demand.]
Again, this was copied directly from the email I received from DirecTV.

VOD recordings will NOT work after the freeview. The receiver will know if your account is authorized to play the content.

I have in the past downloaded premium channels movies/shows and never got around to them before I called to cancel said premium channel. When I tried to play a few of them, it immediately said not authorized. Recordings from Live TV will play though.

VOD isn't working during the freeview either. I tried to download episode 9 of Homeland, and got a message about subscribing.

The free preview is a bit different from ordering a premium channel and then canceling it. I've never been able to download any VOD during the free preview. Just tried it and it gives me a message to purchase it.

Even worse the "Call now to order" banner takes up like 25% of the screen. At least the one on the Movie Channel does. Kind of a pain in the butt for those of us that already get the channel.

I think it is lame that the TMC channels are only available in SD during the freeview. I was hoping to DVR Ed Wood and Inglorious Basterds, but the HD versions are not available during the freeview- LAME.
I agree. I've never seen this before with a Showtime free preview promotion. Especially since all of The Movie Channel channels are part of the Showtime package. Wonder if this is intentional or a mistake by somebody at DirecTv.

I wasn't getting 554/TMCeHD and 556/TMCXHD before (grayed out). But they are working now. Not sure if DirecTV fixed this; I also did a directv.com/resend. So if yours isn't working right now, do the resend/reauthorize.

EDIT: Inglourious Basterds is in HD on Sunday @ 9PM eastern.
