Is this the right place to ask some questions about signal issues I'm having? This is not a new install, but about 6 months old. Last night had some "searching for signal (771) issues on a couple HD channels (specifically Food TV and USA) Blew it off, but it's still there tonight. This is "new" as in it wasn't happening a few days ago. I looked at the dish but other than it still being there and not visibly damaged or impaired I couldn't see anything obvious.
In some checking around here I have the impression the 99 and 103 satellites are important for HD signals and very alarmingly those are all in the 50's (which I know is not good.) I can provide detailed signal numbers if helpful. The 101 satellite signals are coming in around 80 which appears lower than when installed 6 months ago. I'm pretty sure those were higher - upper 80's to 90. I remember being a bit disappointed as with a previous self-installed satellite I'd had signals in the mid-to-upper 90's. Of course, that was with a much simpler dish that I could easily manage myself and I was anal-retentive enough to play with it until it got there.
So long story short - assuming this is a dish alignment issue, can I ask Directv to come out and adjust it? They installed it (meaning I called them to upgrade to HD and they scheduled someone) and I have their protection package - would that help? How hard is this to do yourself? Getting a view of a/the tv from the dish location will be a significant challenge. (It's not in the same location as the old dual lnb dish.)
FYI: I confirmed all the cables are tightly connected including the bbc's. Don't think I've missed any of the obvious trouble-shooting steps.
