Just had a thunderstorm come by and I lost signal for about 5 mins. Before the storm, my signals were:

101: 99% to 100%
99(c): 94%
103(ca): 96%
103(cb): 98%

The storm is still over me right now and here are my signals:
101: 98%
99(c) 82%
103(ca) 50%
103(cb) 79%

And, it is just light rain now. I dont understand that 103(ca) is at 50% but cb is at 79% and it keeps going up. Does my dish need to be realigned?

Wait until the rain stops and things dry up. Then check your signals.

Sorry, I forgot to add this into there. We had some winds also before the rain came through and the LNB arm was just moving loosely and I looked at the signal strength and it was just going from 90% to 70%
I don't think it should have moved that much. We had 70mph winds a few fears ago and our dish didn't move.

The dish didn't move just the LNB arm. It was just moving freely in the wind and the signals were fluctuating. This is the second time it has happened and we have strong storms everyday for about the next week and a half so, I dont want to have to have the picture go out every time some light rain and wind comes by.

That says it all. If its freely moving, that's a major contributor to your problem.

You're a new subscriber right? I'd get them to come back ASAP. Hopefully you're still in your free period for installation issues. If not, I'd still try to get it free, without having to get the PP.
Yup I still am. Will do it tomorrow. Cant have it going out every day for the next week. Its been good so far until I had the SWM16 installed.

Is your dish easy to get at? If so why not just check the bolts that hold the arm in place and make sure they are tight yourself. Why make a tech come out and deal with waiting around for them to show if it could be a really simple fix almost anyone could do themselves? (unless of course you are disabled/elderly/etc where it isn't really possible)
