Ever since my HR34 install I seem to lose the swm very frequently. I have to unplug/replug it and then I get a signal again (for a bit).

I thought it was due to having an hr34, hr24, and hr21 on swm-8 (even though one tuner was disabled). But, even after unplugging the hr20 I still have an issue.

What I frequently get is the other receivers work but the hr34 doesn't.

Bad swm?

Can be several things. Did the tech replaced the LNB or peak out your dish when he was there? The LNB might be bad
He looked, but nothin was replaced. Also, it seems to be only one receiver.

Lately if I jiggle/loosen the cable on the SWM that goes to this receiver it comes back on.

May be a flaky cable as it shouldn't be "loose" and you shouldn't be able to "jiggle" it either.
Somewhat poor description on my part. It was wrench tight. When I loosened it, I actually seemed to have a more solid signal.

Never really thought about just replacing the cable.

With good cables, "snug" should be enough and wiggling shouldn't have any affect, while loosening should cause problems, not "improve" things.
