Can anyone tell me what is the best config to set up an SL5 LNB with an HR24 receiver. I have an 6x8 multiswitch and BBC as well. It's neccessary to run 4 cables or just one from the SL5 LNB to the multiswitch and then put the BBC in between the multiswitch and the receiver? The BBC is needed? I'm a little confused.

If that is all you have Id run two lines from the dish directly to the two inputs on the HR24. With bbcs attached at the HR24.

If you use the multi switch you must run four lines from the dish to the switch then two from the switch to the HR24. And use the bbcs at the HR24.

Or buy your self a swim lnb and then it's one line to the HR24 from the dish and no bbcs.

That changes everything. The HR34 is SWM only.

How did you get the HR34? As stated it's swm only (however) if you let D* upgrade you you can get a HR44 and your system setup trouble free
