I'm about to install a Slim Line dish but need to purchase braces. On the Solid Signal website, there are a few options to choose from.

When purchasing the monopoles, should I get two standards, two longs, or one of each? The pitch of the roof is mild. I’m not sure if the length of the brace is to account for more stability or the pitch of the roof.

Thanks!

you can get a set of shorts on ebay for $10 usually and a longer for around 15 too. my opinion is (and just opinion) the mount location itself determines poles used. in my situation I can use 2 shorts easily.
hope that may help some.

They took down a AT9 dish at my place today and put up a Slimline. I had the mast bolted down IN TO a roof rafter stud. We put 2 monopoles on the new install. One went directly into the same stud the mast was bolted to. The other was placed at a 90 degree angle to the first monopole. I measured over 16 inch's so it too, would hit a roof rafter. Both poles were adjustable so If the ones you buy are not, I would think you can use a long and a short. Either way, that mast is now ROCK SOLID.

PS, not bad for a 1st. post eh?
