While moving around/rearranging items in 'the center' the box was pulled off.
After plugging it back in the red light on the slingbox has not returned....

wait a few minutes
maybe your power supply cord went bad(it happened to me) bought a new one and bang was up and running in no time

You're saying you needed to go out and purchase (not thru DISH) a new power supply cord for the receiver?

Think he means for the sling, not the receiver.

Correction; I actually have the little red sling adapter which does not have a pull off cord.

Have you tried powering down the receiver (unplugged)?
Have you tried plugging it in to another USB port on the receiver?

- the 722 only has one hdmi opening
- unplugged receiver for a minute or so and still no red light on the sling...

EDIT: plugged it in the front door opening and it works, tho.
Should I notify DISH on that failure?

I did that on mine too. Funny thing is that the rear USB has a powered USB hub on it, with my EHD on it.

My proceedure for getting it working when the web page says "no connection":

Go to Menu>>Installation>>Diagnostics>>Test Connection (Menu-6-3-1).
After the diagnostic reports that your broadband connection is ok, hit the "Reconnect" button on the web page.

Happened to be on the horn with DISH yesterday and remembered to ask about that and was told there would be no charge and of course send the other receiver back. Might live with it with all the hassle of trying to deal with recordings and all the setups.
