I think the person that was doing that went to another Forum when DTV moved the Cutting Edge group to Edgecutter.

DirecTV doesn't monitor threads here anymore for issues, and really most of the time there really was nothing to put in any release notes anyway. Anything of note, those will come up regardless.

I don't believe the EdgeCutter forum has a member keeping tabs on NRs with threads for issues &/or discussions.

Since AT&T took over I don't even think this site will have first looks of new DTV equipment anymore right?

I don't know what happened during that childish pissing match while I was away from Directv for a couple years, but sounds like it's a shame and it's devalued this place. Sad.

Yeah, it didn't turn out as had been hoped.

Well, I for 1 think this place is as good as it has ever been. The only thing we are not getting is the first looks that we used to get.
The advice and help that are given to one another here is still here and very useful to us all.

I remember my fist visit here. I was trying to find out how to get my remote to control the volume on my AVR instead of the TV. Whoops there it was easy as pie when someone that knows tells you how.
Been here learning and trying to help others along with that ever since.

Although I do miss first looks and discussions about NRs, I also realize that there probably isn't much new going on in the equipment realm as far as us existing customers go. But I trust that someone around here will let us know if anything of significance is about to happen.

In the meantime, I guess it's still fun for some to speculate.

Suffice it to say (as far as "disappearance" of members) it kind of happened without my being much aware of it. Other than maybe one prominent "troller" of DTV forums who was overly prevalent, but occasionally helpful.

I too, am grateful for this place that for me (in addition to be able to politely air gripes - and not only about TV service) if it weren't here, most likely I'd be completely unhappy with my TV service and less-aware of other options.

In other words, I still receive a great amount of satisfaction from these forums.
