Yet, DIRECTV is not offering this. But guess what, it's easier to capture a stream on a PC than a jailbroken iPad. TWC fInds away to stream to a PC without issues.

I really wish DIRECTV wound offer this. Works on Win and OSX with any browser.

You still bitter you couldnt get Directv2PC configured on your Mac running Parallels?
This is different from DirecTV2PC. But, DirecTVs solution works with Viacom.

LOL. Not bitter, but disappointed. But this also has to do with the iPad app and JB devices too.

But yes, not having DIRECTV2PC for Mac stinks, with the OSX market growing. Sure, not where near the PC level, but big enough? Also why use this programs that gives MOST users on PC issues it seems. Streaming is an easier and better solution with access across many Devices/OS',
Since this isn't specifically a Connected Home discussion I'm moving this to the General Discussion forum. It'll probably have more "legs" here.

So I'm sitting at home streaming D* to my iPad...and I think, why am I wasting my time watching tv on this tiny little screen when I could be watching it on my 60" 1080p Sony and listening to glorious 5.1 sound. What is the point when I'm at home to be able to stream anything? Its absolutely useless. Sitting at my PC using Directv2PC on my second monitor while doing other work, now that is useful...

I agree, streaming at home is useless, at least for me...

Why can't we get streaming anywhere? I don't have a PC with enough horsepower to run Directv2PC so I have no experience with it.

DirecTV2PC worked fine on my six-year-old HP desktop running XP, even though the diagnostics suggested that I would have problems.

That's the point! At times I would LOVE to stream D* to my iMac! I have surround on it too. 27" at my desk is nice.
Why don't you just invest in a Slingbox? Then you can do more then just stream video to your iMac.

Thats what I did. Slingbox runs great on my 27in iMac. Plus it works great on my Motorola Photon and my Motorola Xoom. No channel limitations and I can control both of my DVR's since I have the whole home network.

Streaming to your iPad or whatever at home makes no sense unless your in the can. Why not watch on a big TV like others have stated. I will never understand why people do that when they have a TV.

I do it because my wife loves to watch lifetime while I'm in the room. If there is a game on NBA TV I can watch the game and she can have her lifetime movie...

I had the same problem a few years ago so I understand. I had to go out and get a TV for myself because I damn sure wasn't going to watch lifetime or The Bachelor. I bet you could get a nice Vizio HDTV for the price of an iPad. :D

She actually bought the iPad for me for our anniversary, I guess she got tired of me just leaving the room whenever she had the remote lol
