Just wanted to add this tip. The other night i kept hitting 02468 and couldnt get the thing to update. Then I decided to just do it ONE TIME on the first blue screen and it worked. Dont keep hitting 02468. Just thought I would add this since I havent seen it anywhere.

D* should have the option to update from the menu. It should list what is the available version in the stream and check against the current one in the box. Even better, enable BETA version option as well. Pressing 02468 at the blue screen is just too primitive; you can call it backdoor but it's still too primitive to me...

My box has been VERY good for the entire 3 months I've had it. I'm not afraid of an upgrade breaking it. Who knows, with the massive amount of feedback they got in just the first few hours, they may have made OTA even better...although it is working just dandy for me. Damn the torpedos, full speed ahead!

I wonder if I waitd too long or something. I think it might have been a 2nd blue screen, got thwon off by what the other guy said above, don't think I even saw the msg he mentioned. Well guess I will try again after this is done.

Wait until the window tonight, then do the upgrade, and you will have 0x10B (unless they change it again before they release it in a few hours ...10 p.m. central for me, unless I screwed it up again

Ah I see, ok so 8 tonight in California. And am I right, if it turns out to be a piece of crap for me, then tomorrow mornig I take the same steps and will get FA back? Thanks for the input from all. Yes, you have it right now. It won't be a piece of crap if its ANYTHING like the 0x108 I got Wednesday night....at least I sure hope not, as I'm betting the farm of OTA-HD on it...if for some reason (since I have 108 working fine with OTA-HD) it screws things up for me...I'm stuck! There is no way back to a prior OTA-HD version from tonight, but I'm going to try it anyway.HolmesCo said:

Does the screen on the HR20 actually say "welcome"? or is it something like "hello etc.."? I know my HR10 used to say Welcome, but I thought Hr20 was Hello. Seems like a simple thing, just making sure I get the right screen when doing the remote control number mashing.

I just did it and cannot even remember. Chuckle,, I'm so old!
