I am watching the PGA Championship on TNT and most of the commercials are very much louder than the programming. Why is this? Aren't there rules against this?

The commercials are loud all the time and yes it is very annoying.

Closer, Saving Grace, etc. Wakes the kids up if I don't keep the remote in close reach. That is why I only DVR shows on TNT. Never watch it live.

It's not just TNT. It's ALL DirecTV commercials. Any that mention a DirecTV channel are extremely loud. If you turn off your television's sound levelling options, you can hear it. It's enough to wake up the neighbors. It just started a few weeks ago.

I've only really noticed it on TNT. It hasn't been noticeable on my end on other channels.

The British Open on TNT was like this as well. Golf seems worse than the regular shows. All are annoying though. I've also noticed this problem on NBC (Olympics today) and on all Directv commercials, and also when watching House on Fox.

There is a place to complain about this on TNT's web site. I did so during the British Open. They finally responded back just last week, wanting to know if the commercials were too loud or the the broadcast was too low (possible) . They wanted to know who my provider was and if I had contacted them. Of course, I had provided all of that info in my initial complaint, so I just deleted the e-mail.

I guess it could be a Directv problem. Not sure...

This was a major complaint with Hotpass when the races were on TNT. Thankfully they are now on ESPN. But yes, it is annoying to say the least.
