Am I missing something or does Directv not have a sounds of the season channel? with Dish network and Time warner they both did, and we would put our speakers in the windows and play haloween music/sounds, but with Directv there is none? please say I am overlooking it!

Since DTV decided to go w/XM Radio instead of Music Choice, (which they carried for well over ten years), you get stuck with XM. So, no Sounds of The Seasons. I miss Music Choice too.

Guess not. :)

I don't believe that XM (DirecTV's music source) has a dedicated "seasonal" channel...but some of the channels may be presenting seasonal music. You could check the XM web site to see what you can find out.

During Christmas last year XM had 4-5 different channels playing all sorts of holiday songs. My guess is they didn't think many folks would be interested in listening to screams and moans during their morning commute....or at least any more screams and moans than usual.

There are CDs available all over for $5-$10.

Check out Special X on DirecTV channel 848. When that channel was live on XM they had music for all the holidays, now that it's been reduced to an online only and DirecTV only channel, I'm not sure if they still have Halloween stuff, I would imagine they do though.

XM has some Halloween programming on it's other channels as well

I've always enjoyed Sounds of the Season on Music Choice. This is the first year I've listened to the Halloween selection. Some of it's pretty cool, some corny, but due to the limited selection I've already heard the entire rotation a few times. If I hear Ghostbusters, Monster Mash or Skeleton Bones one more time I'm going to flip. :)

BTW - To my knowledge Dish Network never had an audio only channel that featured Halloween Music. The Holiday Music channel on Muzak was only live for the Christmas season and Sirius does not have a dedicated channel for this either.

isnt that the playboy channel on one of those satellite radio providers
thanks everyone for your help, it wasnt the same without the haloween sounds/music :( not that it made much of a difference, my HR20 worked for about 5 minutes and went into a constant state of reboot even after a format...is it just me or is this thing getting worse every day.

Actually Playboy Radio has been on both. :)

XM had it form September 2002 to September 2005 on channel 205
Sirius has it as of March 2006 on channel 198

I've listened to it on both services, much better on Sirius :)

Anyhow, so did you check out channel 848?
