In the interest of getting the issue with audio dropouts resolved, I'm asking for help from the general DBSTalk community. Generally, heavy-duty issue reporting is reserved for the private forums, but I'm asking you guys to help out.

If you get an audio dropout and can stop within 10 minutes of it happening, I'd like you to prepare a report for DIRECTV and post it here with a description of the issue.

You must be networked to do this.

In order to send this report, simply do a search for the word SENDREPORT and then choose "Keyword" as your search type. You will be taken immediately to a screen where you can press {SELECT} to "Send" a report. You will be given a code like 20120504-AB21 ... Please post a description using this format:

Audio drop out on WMEQ while watching recorded programming.

Of course use your own code and describe your particular issue.

Normally DIRECTV engineers don't request these codes from "the general public" but I have a feeling I can get them to listen this time.

Thanks for your help!

Audio drops out constantly in pretty much anything that I record. You can see the picture jump a bit too around the same time it is happening. More annoying than anything. Receiver has been fairly slow lately too. A few times I have had to power it off and back on before it would respond to any remote inputs. Let me know if I can get anything else for you that might help. This is extremely annoying and I'll help out in any way that I can.

So, after a little digging around after I sent in my report above, I noticed that my boxed received the 0x5cb software update on Sunday morning around 5ish AM. Since this time, I have not noticed as many audio drop outs...to be honest I haven't noticed one yet. I'll keep monitoring the situation and post an update here if they return or continue to stay away. Let me know if you have any questions.
