Now if we can just get them to add Joplin locals I will be very happy. I am about 5 miles out of the Tulsa DMA and it stinks especially since I dont qualify for any locals now.
I thought about that, but as I mentioned we have been added to the schedule on the Directv website. A lot of LRFs have been switched to digital recently, not sure if they are capable of adding HD more easily to those, or how current those lists are. I do know that Directv had bought space from KY3 in 2006 for HD uplink, never did anything with it as of last month. We'll see what happens, I have been waiting 23 months since the last time we were told HD LiL would be added in our area.noursegod said:Now every town I have lived in has or will have HD LiL.... That is, except my current location.
Of course, it could be misinformation from the CSR since there is no HD LRF in Springfield, MO yet.
I saw that after I had posted. I'm glad for y'all up there - the Springfield stations cover a large area and its hard to get OTA signals in a lot of that terrain. I should know, I used to live out in the Ozark hills in the middle of nowhere: BTW: That E* dish replaced an old primestar dish.21hawk said:I thought about that, but as I mentioned we have been added to the schedule on the Directv website. I have in-laws that live 30 miles from the Fordland towers, some of the tallest towers anywhere at 2000 feet and they still can't get any OTA down in the holler.noursegod said:I saw that after I had posted. Ahh the memories... I got my first speeding ticket driving through Fordland on my way to Springfield after prom...21hawk said:I have in-laws that live 30 miles from the Fordland towers, some of the tallest towers anywhere at 2000 feet and they still can't get any OTA down in the holler.
Approach routes from Sikeston to SGF take you right over the towers, in an small aircraft at night it almost seems like you are flying amongst four 2000 foot tall christmas trees, kinda surreal.noursegod said:Ahh the memories... More than a few of the scheduled markets are lacking one network or more.kvandmx said:I think Springfield was finally added due to the fact KSPR finally began broadcasting Digital last week. KSPR is the ABC Local affiliate. The other major networks have been broadcasting digital for a while. I guess they were just waiting for ABC?
Ah, say what? D11 is not just to get rid of 72.5... First off, they are only using the spotbeams to take those channels, and that won't even use up all there spotbeams, and I don't even know if those channels are specifically going to D11 spots...leww37334 said:According to my scoring, that leaves only 5 DMA's that currently use the 72.5 satellite without HD coverage.
As has been noted elsewhere in this forum, it is obvious that Directv is using D11 to get rid of the 72.5 satellite, not to increase national programming. Maybe D12 will bring some new national HD.
