Springfield MO HD Locals on, but no NBC

Some of the Springfield HD Locals came on this morning.

KOLR 10 - HD
KSFX 27 - HD
KSPR 33 - HD
KYTV 3 - Still only SD

I wasn't expecting PBS to come on yet, but I wonder what the holdup is on KY3? I guess I won't look a gift horse in the mouth. :) Thanks D*.

WOOHOO!! Bout freaking time!!

And of course, this is the one morning that I DIDN'T turn on the TV before work....
Please post your issues in the appropriate thread in the HD locals forum. Thanks.
Flippin' sweet!! On the list to get HD's back in 2006, then off the radar completely for the last 2 years, then out of the blue this happens!!

All I really cared about was ABC/KSPR HD, b/c I couldn't get it through my OTA antenna. 'Lost' in HD - finally!!!
Yeah same here. I couldn't get them all OTA without having to move my antenna.

Now, I can get PBS and KYTV from one antenna position, and the rest from the dish! sweet!!
KSPR is now on full power digital so you should be able to get it from KYTV's tower as well.

Yep, with KSPR-DT's new tower & high antenna, it should be the easiest Springfield OTA channel to receive now. If your tuner didn't see it in the initial scan, you'll need to do a rescan for digital OTA channels.
Do I have to do anything special to get the locals in HD? Are they on a different channel? I might just not have watched any local programs in HD yet, but I want to make sure I'm not missing something.

Can't wait for Survivor and Dancing with the Stars in HD (Misty May, )!
I just checked and I am getting my local channels?? I have never had local channels on my account. I still have East Coast HD feeds and SD West and East coast feeds.

OTA or DirecTV?

Are you getting the local channels in HD?

If you have a DirecTV HD receiver and are getting the E & W feeds, you should also be getting the HD feeds, too, in the 80s and 390s. Did you get NY & LA back before Springfield (SD) locals were ever available on D*?

Yes, I have the HD DVR. I got the NY and LA feeds before Springfield, MO local channels were available. I was then able to get the East Coast HD feed since no HD locals were available. I am just curious as to why all of a sudden I am receiving Springfield, MO local channels in SD when I never have in the 5 years that I have been with them. I'm not complaining, but I am wondering.

Um, because the Springfield locals are now on one of the Ka/Ku satellites?

Until now, the Springfield (SD) locals were on a separate, 72.5 satellite, which required a 2nd dish to pick up. I assume you never had the 2nd dish setup, but did get a 5LNB dish to pick up the HD channels, correct?

If so, when they turned on the HD locals receivable on the 5LNB dish, yours were turned on either:
1. Inadvertently
OR
2. You may have been paying for locals all along, but could never receive them, due to lack of the 72.5 dish.

If you want to keep your service as-is, let sleeping dogs lie. If you make any programming changes, you may lose NY HD and LA/NY SD channels. And don't be surprised if someday you turn on the TV and LA/NY channels are gone.

I know someone in Arkansas who has a similar situation on her D* account, but it involves the Little Rock locals & NY/LA DNS channels. :)

DirecTV. I checked last night, and the news was on in HD. I'm so excited!
Any word on when KYTV-DT NBC will be added?
Thanks for the feedback. I will enjoy these feeds as long as possible.
Damn. This happens when I move away from Springfield to go back to school. Now I have to wait for CoMo to get HD locals, which I thought would be before Springfield since they were listed, I guess it'll be another two years before I get my wish.
