The ability to use one cable for both tuners.

ok, so how does one accomplish this. what do they need.

That depends on the dish type. Simple stackers only work with the single LNB 18" round dish. More expensive stackers work with the 3-LNB Phase III multi-satellite dish. I'm not aware of any stacker/destacker solutions yet for the new 5-LNB AT9 multisatellite dish.

Here are some typical stackers & destackers ....

This is a house I moved into that has a dish already. It looks like phase 3 but has an ota and from the looks of it a diplexer. Comming off the roof I see 3 wires not sure how it figures. I have a spaun 5x8 inside my house that I bought and have 2 wires going to sat a and b c and d are left open.

When I hook up my 3 dvrs I obviously currently can only use 1 input as the moron who wired house did a poor job at best. So what do you suggest.
Do you need the 3-LNB dish? Are you subscribing to HD or local channels that do not come through the 101 satellite?

If you do, you will need to run all 4 lines from the dish to the 5x8 inputs. With only two lines connected, you only have access to the 101 satellite (same as using a single round dish). If you are getting all of the programming you are subscribing to now, then you don't need to worry about the other two lines at this time. If you ever upgrade to HD service, you will need them.

As to your current situation, if you are getting all of your programming with just the 2 coax lines going into your multiswitch, then a low-end stacker will probably work for you. That could cost you up to around $300 or so. You can then use the internal destackers in the R15. It would probably be a lot less expensive to just run another wire from the multiswitch to the R15.
