Start of service date

DirecTV's IT/Computer systems, such as they are, may not retrieve the actual date. Over the years, the systems have been 'upgraded' or 'improved', and lots of data has simply not made it from the older systems to the newer.rkcoll1 said:

The last time I was talking to a CSR (adding another DVR to my account), I had them take a look see, and the earliest date they could come up with was the LAST change I had made to my account. Certainly not the date I originally started my account.
Now maybe the person didn't know which part of the records to properly look at, but this was at least th third time I had asked this very question in the last couple of years, adding and deleting receivers. And each time the answer was the same, the latest date they had was the LAST change I had made.
So all I can say is good luck. Perhaps some supervisor can retrieve the correct date for you.

Last week I was on the phone with a CSR for some billing problems and I asked for my start of service date. He told me October 12, 1996. I recalled it was 1996 and that I got my sat system because the cable co could not deliver the 49er games without a bunch of interference, so they had the right date.curt8403 said:

I would almost be willing to bet that the letters they send out regarding the customer loyalty program will have your start date on it.

Mine goes back to 11/26/02. Say New T1 group. I think I changed my base package at that time. I am still gradfathered back to that package. We got D* in 97.

Many of us were migrated to DTV from the rural affiliates, such as Pegasus. I came via Heartland. I doubt DTV has my date but for some odd reason I kept the original installation receipt, so *I* know it.
