Okay, I've just about had it. Again.

With 0xE3, Randomly, but at least once a day, my HR20 would lose all DVR functionality, turning into a plain old tuner. No pause, FF, RW, skip, anything. No recordings. Can't play recordings. Reset required, and even then, it's a 50/50 chance it'll work for another day.

But, I thought, I'd wait, and give the software guys a chance to fix it. I waited a good two weeks. I switched back to the HR10... and then its hard drive failed. Back to the HR20 and a 50/50 shot of actually having any shows recorded on any given day.

With 0xEB, it was a DVR again for two days straight; a new record! Then today, once again, it turned back into a receiver, right in the middle of football.

*sigh*

Anyone else getting this still, or am I just cursed? Is there any way to make the DVR roll back to pre-0xE3, back to when the thing wouldn't decide it was tired of recording every few hours?

Mine does a similar thing losing the ability to use any dvr functionality until I change the channel and come back to the same channel, which of course causes you to lose the buffer and the reason you actually wanted to use the dvr features during that time.

At times the beast completely stops responding and after a minute or so I am actually able to change the channel.

Oh and then there's the searching for satellite errors, black recordings, completely missed recordings and the lack of over the air antennas (which I'm sure will add to the stability of the machine one they are added).

The good news is I rarely have to do a red button reset.

From your posts, does this usually only happen when using the Buffer?

I had the same problem is loubolb today. I came into the room and wanted to rewind to the begining of a show, but the box would not respond to any trick play buttons. Pushing play would bring up the info bar showing time and buffer, but I could not use any trick play features until I changed the channel. Bringing up a recorded program, then going back to live, did not fix the problem.

I lost Desperate Housewives today. Wasn't watching TV, box was off and I noticed the orange light was not on. Turned on the box and the orange light came on too. Checked and it wasn't in my playlist. When I tuned to the channel it shows a full orange bar and seems to keep recording. None of the trickplay buttons work. I don't know what to do. I have never had this sort of problem with 0xE3. With 0xE3 I only had minor glitches. Now with 0xEB I am missing recordings and losing functionality. PLEASE RESCIND 0xEB!!!!!!!!!!
