Help!!! I have Direct tv. I live in a zip that is claimed by the Mets, Pirates and Yanks. My local rsns are MSG, Fox Pitt and Fox NY. I also get YES. On MOnday, the Mets played the Pirates. They were on Fox Pitt, MSG and ESPN2. I should only have been blacked out of ESPN2. Oh I also get extra innings which was showing the MSG feed. For some reason, I received a black out message on MSG and Fox Pitt. On cable (I still have basic) MSG was not blacked out. About an hour into the game, the signal came through on Fox Pitt. (I had left the other receiver on tuned to this channel and it came in spontaneously. I called Direct tv and they told me I should not be blacked out. What gives?

Hello, Jimmee and welcome.

Sounds like a mistake on Directv's part to me that they got corrected an hour into the broadcast. If it happens again, I'd call them right at the beginning to complain. Other than that, I have no idea... :)

apparently the local cable company has an exclusive on Met games on MSG. Hence, direct tv is blacked out. I wonder if MSG has offered this to cable companies as an inducement not to drop MSG in light of the Yankess migration to YES.
