strange reception problems

I have h.d and the h.d vdr for 6 months. for some strange reason last week I had a strange reception problem.
on my h.d stations it said trying to receive single.on my reguler stations all was working fine.then suddenly my remote control stoped changing stations.I reset the box and it said cannot find all stations.I called for service and von monday the tech. came and since all was now working fine he just reset the box again and said if any more problems recall.today I put on the cbs and nbc feed and got the same message.I should add that recently they put new drains (gutters} on my
house and tucked the wire under the wired opening in the gutter.has anyone recently had my type of reception problem or could it be the tuner or the wire.
