Have same issue...forced HDR. Colors saturated and PQ dark when HDR and Chroma is set to on. Been back and forth with DIRECTTV. Had me reset device. Sending me out new Gemini replacement. Doubt that will solve issue. Need auto detect software update for HRD. Roku and Apple devices have this built-in.

Both devices need adaptive HDR that will automatically detect HRD. Not a new issue. Seems DIRECTTV knows of this issue because there are many complaints in the forums. Either they don't want to fix this or they can't. Very inconvenient to keep going in an turning on and off HDR. I leave DIRECTTV HDR off and use my Roku or Apple TV that has Adaptive HDR for movies.
Gemini is a good device too bad for this issue.
