Stuck on startup screen

643 Views 7 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  mwhaley
I configured the HR20 for networking and it would not see WMP11 or Twonky.

So I did a reset of the HR20 and now it goes thru the first 2 startup screens and then sits at a generic Directv +hddvr screen and is not moving.

Its been like this for 20 mins, I did another reset and its doing it again.

The lights were flashing/moving earlier, but now nothing is happening.

Any advice ?

This is not likely to help, but if you haven't already, I would try unplugging the ethernet, or if you did that, I would try leaving it in. Hopefully, nothing more serious is wrong.
Also if you're HDMI, you can try disconnecting that and using component, S - whatever else you have. Then if you can get back up, try adding the HDMI back with a power down/up.
In the past, others have simply un plugged the power to the unit.
Waited a few minutes... then tried again.

But I would agree with Rex to pull the network plug, at least to try to see if things start.
I am resetting now with the network cable unplugged at the router and wil see if that helps, if not, I will pull the power cord out, if that fails I will reformat.
Well with the cable unplugged it powered on fine.

Now if I plug in the cable, the unit becomes very slow or unresponsive to anything I try to do on it.

I am trying again after removing the power cord.

Shutdown your PC... and see if continues to be slow.
I gave up on it for now and I using the cable I ran for the Xbox instead (and it works fine)

I am getting a wireless bridge for Christmas and will try it again then and see if it works any better.
