Stupid question!

Hopefully, not a stupid answer.

Where is the best place to buy service? Online or a brick and mortar building?

Sorry for the question, please humor me. :)

To buy what "service"? Repair? DirecTV equipment?
See, I told you it was stupid. :)

For new service. I am moving into a new place next week and need an installation.

Dave
Wherever you buy your equipment should arrange professional installation. If you buy from DirecTV directly, that's most likely Ironwood (depending upon where you are in Washington State). BestBuy and other DirecTV retailers will also arrange installation.
Oh, and if you already have DirecTV equipment and an active account, just call DirecTV and ask about their "mover's package". They'll arrange professional installation for your existing equipment, including a new dish at the new place.
Nope, this is a virgin install. I have never had the service and I am gonna leave it up to someone that understands this stuff.

I am still debating Dish vs Direct, but I have to make my decision soon.

My biggest concern is over the DVR. I can't get a clear picture of how good or bad the various units are. I am also debating HD vs SD.

Oh well, I have lots more reading to do I think!

Dave
Let us know what you decide.
