I've DVR with duel recording. Black box says 522 on it. Is that the useful number?

Problem #1 TV#1 has a message approx; downloading guide, wait 5 minutes or press stop. Message has been there for about 2 hours, nothing seems to be happening.

Problem #2 on TV #2 the "guide" shows it recording (on #1 or #2 or both) but I cannot find any new recordings on my DVR events menu.

Problem #3 I go to schedule and scroll backward to previous times where stuff should have been recorded and there are blanks where it usually say "done" or indicates skipped for some reason. I have never seen blanks in this column before. This blanks started something different happened between 0100 and 0300 hours.

Incidently "Pause", forward and backward and play seem to be working.

May be some other curious new things I have forgotten to note. Other info, live in the desert with no trees, weather or anything like that ot interfere.

first thing to try is a "front panel reset" - hold the box's power button in for 10 seconds and release it. let the box restart (this is a "soft" reset).

if that doesnt clear it up, try a power plug pull (this is a 'hard" reset

maybe just go for the hard reset right away and see how it comes out..
