I set the Sugar Bowl to record on all my dvr's 2 HR20's and an old hughes tivo. Well I watched the 1st half on the Tivo while on the treadmill then I went to my main HR20 and nothing was there. The history says it is set to record but nothing.

My 2nd HR20 recording fine. At least I was able to watch the 1st half on the 23inch HD then change over to the 50inch for the second half.

Why does this DVR hate football? I tried to record the rose bowl and it stop with 3 minutes left even with a 3 hour pad.

Anyone else have a prob like this for the Sugar Bowl?

I'm not sure this was your issue but if the Sugar Bowl was broadcast on Fox we may share the issue. Both Tues. and Wed. bowl games on Fox 45 in Baltimore were unwatchable on the HD channel. I would assume if I had tried to record it their would have been an issue like yours.

It maybe an issue with a known long padding issue. I recorded each BCS with no problems, but i record the shows after each as a "workaround."

Knowing there are problems with padding, etc., I set the HR20 to record both the game and the postgame show. I got the game in it's entirety and part of the post game show (because the game ran long). I just completed FF through the entire game (using the 15 min ticks) and all recorded just fine.

My recommendation is to not pad recordings...record whatever follows the sports show you want, and you are more likely to have success. This is just a work-around, but it does work.

BTW, I recorded it OTA.

No problems watching the recorded Sugar Bowl with 30 min padding.

I recorded the sugar bowl and started watching after it had completed recording. I was recording in on San fran MPEG 4 channel 2. Toward the end of the 2nd qtr the sound started dropping out. When I fast forwarded to the beginning of the 3rd qtr, the picture went to being jerky and running as if in slow motion with no sound. I would pause, and restart and the sound would come back for a few seconds and then go away. Fast forwarding took minutes for it to start fast forwarding. It was next to impossible to get it to skip to the next tick. The commercials seemed to be alright and as soon as back into the game the jerkyness started again.

I went back to the beginning of the recording is it was fine. Jump to the second half, and it was not watchable.

Anybody else of this problem?

Jeff
