Suggestion Thread? (Suggestion for the Guide)

I have a suggestion for the HR20 programming team. Is there a thread for this?

I've had my HR20 for a couple of days. There are many little things I miss about my TIVO already. (Things like switching between tuners quickly, dual buffers, CORRECT guide data  ) But the single thing I miss most right now, is the ability to view the guide by channel. I loved the guide option on my Tivo that allowed me to select a channel and then see all the shows coming up on that channel in a nice little list to the right. It is such a better way to look at programming for DVR users.

I'd love to see D* add this as a viewing option on their guide.

Dual buffers are supposed to be addressed in a later software release. With regards to a channel list, there is a way to list programming by channel, not as easy as Tivo, and not as quickly, but all you need to do is enter the guide, left arrow to the channel number you want the programming for and hit info. It will take a few seconds to get all the info and appear that it is locked up, but be patient.

Hey Thanks! That is what I was looking for. Getting there is so entirely anti-intuitive though. I really find it to be a pain that it takes essentially 4 button presses to get that information. I'm glad they have the feature, now if they could just make it easier to navigate...

They could give us a list of channels on the left to scroll. They could also let us use that view as our alternative guide. They could eliminate the sort screen when I press the guide button and make sorting an option.

All those nice little tweaks and I think my enjoyment of this box would improve tremendously.

Thanks again for pointing that out to me.

Is there a Suggestion Thread anywhere for the Software Team working on this box?
