The former Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner died in Japan over the weekend of heart failure. He had be fighing a leg disease in his left foreleg. Many will remember his battles with Easy Goer who won the Belmont Stakes. With Pat Valenzuela on Sunday Silence and Pat Day on Easy Goer, we had two of the best jockeys on the two best horses. Sunday Silence was chosen 3-year-old champion and Horse of the Year in 1989. In 1990, Sunday Silence was sold to a Farm in Japan where he died on Hokkaido, the northernmost island of Japan.
