For those still looking for deals . . . .

I had to call D today as I wanted to add Fox Soccer Channel back into my package as the new season is about to begin. My current package is the HD+ one, for about $75, plus Setanta Sports.

The rep who answered the call said that the Premier package would come to about the same price and recommended that I switch to that.

She then asked me if I was interested in the Sunday Ticket. I informed her I've had it in the past, but the costs are too much this year. She asked would I be interested in it for $78 a month for 4 months - and get my premier package for free during those months. So, instead of paying about $120 for the next 4 months, I'll have to pay $78 for Sunday Ticket - and the additional fees for HD Access and Setanta. SCORE. Of course, I jumped at the offer - given my monthly bill will be slightly less. She then offered me $10 a month off for 6 months, to help offset the cost of Super Fan if I choose to get it.

What a fantastic offer. I thought it was for new customers only, but she said they can use it for current also . I believe it's showing on my online bill as "Winback Deal".

So, for anyone who dropped ST - looks like there's still offers to be had if you get the right rep!

This was my last time I was going to call and try and get the four months free premier with the NFL ticket. This was my fourth attempt to try an persuade a CSR to give me that package,(I have been with D* since june 9) I didnt even have to persuade her, all I did was ask for it, she had me on hold for 2 min, came back and not only did she give me the package she also gave me the superfan for free and 6 free months of the HD extra pack.

the problem is that the other dude was chaning from a lower package to premiere. you already have premiere. the best youll probably get is the free SF with ST for 249...although you may be able to get a few more credits.

Well..I bumbled around and tried to secure the same deal.....I presently have + HD DVR. No joy. I was told that was for new subscribers only. Obviously, it depends on the CSR.

But, after a bit of "whining" and bad humor (but no threats, mentions of Dish, etc.) I bought the Superfan ....and then my lovely CSR gave me:
1. Superfan for free
2. HBO/Skinemax for 3 months free
3. $10 per month credit for a year.

I already had the Starz/Showtime $11 - 3 month special (which will end up being $2.67 each month after the Showtime rebate).

I am happy.... I end up with "almost premier" and my bill will actually be lower than I currently paying.

Can CSR reps see how many times/when you have called when you call in? Should I try again??

Thanks everyone... Just got it.. Called about 5 times and spoke with several different people. Just mentioned that my friend got the deal and I wanted it as well. 5th person, in retention, made it work..
Here's what I got.


So, $74.99 a month for Premier and ST with SF, but i did have to add HD service at $9.99 month plus DVR service, and I did get $10.00 off per month for 6 months and got the HD extra free for 3 months..
All in all, paying $1.99 more a month. I think my wife will be happy!
Pretty sweet deal.
Did not move, did not drop service, but a customer since 2006.

I had the HDDVR pack with stars, Protection plan, hd extra, and 3 extra boxes. I've been a customer for about 10 months but about 5 months ago i upgraded to HdDvr. All I did was say a guy i know just got the package, This is true because of this forum And they said ok like it was no big deal.

I called yesterday, and noted that I was given free superfan last year when I signed up. The rep cut me off, and told me that if I wanted to keep Sunday Ticket this year, Superfan would be complimentary. I verified what she was saying and it shoed up with a $0 charge in my activity on my account about 5 minutes after the call.. Total, I was on hold longer than I was on the phone with the rep, and got exactly what I called for..

Edit: My autorenew had kicked in at the $250 price, but nothing noting SF had shown on my bill. This doesn't really fit with the orginia, post in the thread, just giving my experience with calling.

yep only if you dont have ST. you would have to cancel ST and try to get the deal after that. of course youd risk losing ghe free SF and 249 renewal, but im sure if you went to add it back you could still get it for that.

Well I called and got the ST/Premier deal but could not get free SF.
The best they would do was $30.00 credit over six months. I very politely told the CSR I was not interested and the reason why, which is as mentioned above, best left for other threads.

Oh well I really do not have the time to watch that much fb and movies anyway.

It is very possible to get the deal however you need to be current on your bill, currently not a SF sub., and most importantly polite and patient.

Just my observations based on my conversation.

Andy I was wondering what those of us already on Premier(it was still called Total Choice Plus when I signed up) tried to do this. I guess the bait is Free Premier for 4 months but why offer if I already bit.
