Was having breakfast and noticed a D* official truck with a supervisor taking photos of my installation. I said what's up? He said he was checking the installation and was going to schedule an installer to come back and fix/clean up what the previous installers messed up, including proper fittings for the cabling, support arms for the AT-9 and cleaner cabling with improved bushings. It was a big surprise considering I installed the dish and receiver myself. :)

LOL. Actually I installed only the dish and used the existing cabling used previously on my DTivo for the HR-20 (which was the only cable with the "proper fittings"). The mistakes were actually all done by the installers when they installed the switch and ran new cabling to the DTivo which I moved to the bedroom. That's what this guy pointed out would have to be fixed.

One good thing - even though the dish doesn't have the support arms, I had zero issues the other night during a raging wind/rain/snowstorm. It's likely because most of our winds come in from the side away from where the dish is mounted, so I'm well-protected from the elements. But it looks like I'll get those installed too by someone at some point.

Still - it's good D* went ahead with plans to fix it up. That's a rare occurrence these days given installers' performances, so it looks like at least where I live, there's some quality control going on.
