Ok heres my dilemna , right now comcast is hitting me almost $230 for internet and tv a month, and this has to stop.
After looking over directv and dish I decided dish was a better bang for the buck.
I tried talking to dish but they claim to not support more then 4 recievers per account. Weird one I suppose but don't they understand people have large families still wont watch the same tv ?
Any way my problem is I have 5 tv's. 3 HD 2 SD (yeah i spoiled my kids last christmas). My wife loves the comcast dvr and I love my hd and dvr too.
I need some suggestion on setups since dishnetwork has refused to install it for 5 tv's.
I looked at the maps for the dish 1000 but it seems the boston ma. area can not use that satellite dish. I would probably need a 2nd dish aimed at 61.5 (don't know how because of some tree's that are to the left of where I would aim the 110/119 one(previous owner had dish but only a 500 dish).
I would like to set it up so that when an installer comes he can aim the dish/dishes if needed and just put in the switches.
Heres what I have come up with so far. Any changes would be welcome.
1 x 622
2 x 211
1 x 311 or
2 x 111 (are they still available ?)
dish 1000 i hope but I think that won't happen. Second dish may be out of the question also. A dp44 ? So I could run only one cable per dual tuner box ?
I would probably buy each reciever except the 622 (unless I can find a cheaper one then dishnetwprks current price).
I think the Hd platinum package would be an ideal fit since every one watches different things at the same time in this house.
Now questions , does dish charge per hd reciever the hd fee ? Do they charge per "tuner" or per reciever box ?
It has to beat the $12 hd outlet charge on comcast per hd box, and $10 per dvr. If I own the boxes do they charge me a cheaper fee per the boxes I own ? If not Am I better off buying them or leasing ?
Thanks in advance for any input.
and no comments about spoiling the kids
