Well today had directv out because needed service installed to another room. Before today we have service in 4 rooms, with 2 HD DVRs, and 2 HD Boxes. So today another HD box was added, and the install tech switch our setup over to swim. I remember when we first had directv installed a couple years back, they tryed using the swim setup, and it was nothing but problems, two boxes working, two not working. Then all four would work, then wake up next day two boxes down again. So we had a tech out that switched our system to something different. Which I know required both HD DVR boxes to have some kind of adapters screwed in to the coax before the two coax lines screwed into the box itself.

So today with the swim setup them two adapters per HD dvr box was removed for them boxes to work correctly again. The problem now is seeing pixelation/glitches in the picture. It's affecting both HD and Non-HD channels, and it's happening to both local channels, as well to channels like TNT and such. So anyone got an ideal what could be the problem? I know before he left the HD channel for A&E was all snowy, so he call in, and found it was a local problem. So he let them know of the issue for it to be corrected. The snowy problem is gone now on A&E HD, but this glitchy picture problem affecting all kinds of channels is starting to bug me.

Also starting to make me hate this SWIM system again because I remember the problems of them using this before, and directv having to send someone out to change the setup to something else. I even mention the problems we had with the swim setup before to the tech that was out.

SWiM actually works better for a few reasons, "but" it needs to be setup correctly.
Go to one of the receivers with problems, and look at the signal level screens, but really look at the SWM screen for the 9 channels shown.
You will see some zeros, which will go away if you have all the receivers on this screen.
If you're not getting a good signal, then it could explain what you're seeing.

Well looking at the swm signal it was for (1-8) 100,0,100,100,96,0,0,0. Then 97 on 9, rest of them show N/A. Things seem to be running good atm. Maybe was a local issue on directvs end with there sats. Just had me worried with it affecting multiple channels, and not just local channels.

If those are your numbers, the system can't be that bad, but do keep an eye on them when [or if] you have problems again.
