Hey all!

I currently have a 2 room setup with a DVR625 and I'm leasing the DVR625. In the back of it I have two kinds of splitters. One splits the satellite signal into two and those two connect to the back of the DVR625. The other is a diplexer with In/Out, Sat, and TV.

I have a guy that will sell me a HD DVR for $150 (he's switching away from dish). It's 1.5 years old and he has to go home to look at the model number, but I assume its going to be the 921 or the 942.

I have several questions about switching that hopefully I can get some input on before I call the retard that will surely answer the phone at dish.

1. If the HD DVR is a 921, 942 or a 622 will I need any additional equipment or will the splitters I have by exactly what I need to plug right into the HD DVR?

2. I don't know if his DVR is still using a card or not, but mine definitly has no card. Would this affect anything if his was using a card and my current setup does not?

3. What are the big advantages of having the new Vip622 over the 921 or 942?

Thanks!

Wow, thats exactly what I needed to know. So basically the 921/942 is a regular SD DVR like I already have but it is also a HD tuner for OTA channels?

My Plasma already has a HD tuner built in and I have an antenna plugged in to watch the OTA HD channels.

So if I want the DishHD package with 30 HDTV channels it looks like the 622 is only only option.

As for the diplexer question there is actually two of them, one at the back of my 625 and then another outside the house. From the one ouside the house the cable goes back inside to my second TV.

Reguardless, if I got the 622 I will have to get an installer to come out and hook everything up it seems.

I got so many "fees" on my bill it's insane. I actually have a 4 room setup, a 625 downstairs and a 322 upstairs. I subscribe to the top 180 package ($49.95) but with all the fees by bill is around $90. There are lease fees, DVR fees, no phone line fees, I think there is one fee on there called "kick to the nuts".

I assume that if I kept the 625 (moved it upstairs) and added the 622 I would incur and additional $6 lease fee, the $10-15 increase for adding HD channels, and a fee for the DVR recording. Where if I let them take the 625 away I would just be adding on $10-15 for the HD channels.

Does the $199 fee reinstate me in any kind of a contract? Currently I am out of my contract with them.
