SWM/coupler

The coax line from my slimline 3lnb dish runs thru my addic into a 4 output splitter. If i ever wanted to just hook the dish line directly into a one receiver (say an hr34) the line wouldnt be long enough to reach as it ends like i said at the splitter in the addic. Could i use a coupler and attach it to the line fished down my living room wall that is currently attached to one of the outputs of the splitter or are couplers a no-no with SWM?

If you only have the one receiver, as long as you terminate the unused ports on the splitter, you shouldn't have a signal loss that would affect the quality of your signal. Is there a reason you want to remove the splitter?

Well b/c i only have 2 of the terminators for the splitter. The installer used two outputs left on the terminators to the other two outputs but didnt leave me the unused terminators to put on. Wuld this work:

But again just in case can a coupler be used on a SWM line?

If you don't need a splitter, then don't use one.
If you need a termination, go to Lowes, Home depot or radioshack as there's nothing special about them.
I found some on amazon will these be ok?

So i'll keep the splitter on but just for future reference can you use coax couplers on a SWM coax line?

Those are fine.

A barrel can be used on a SWiM, just like a legacy system.
Every connection can be a point of failure, so the fewer you have the better you are.
Ok i just wanted to know so i would know just in case. Trying to prepare for all scenarios. Like to have all info on hand before i set things up. Thanks!
