I'm having issue with one of my drops that's the furthest from the SWM unit. It drops signal a lot and fairly randomly (not weather related). None of the other receivers are affected. IN fact, in most cases I can switch to a non HD signal and receive content and then move back to an HD channel and everything is happy.

I have both an HR-20 and a HR-21 that are operating off a a splitter and typically function normally. My living room drop is fine 99% of the time with either unit in place.

Could it be that I am suffer from signal loss over the long run to the bedroom? It's not even 100' long in run.

I've swapped out the connectors to the bed room run with new compression fittings and that seemed to help initially, but the bedroom drop continues to have issue. All of my cable runs are RG59, except those running from the dish and to the power inserter.

Thoughts?

First what reciever is on the "long" drop. What software number too. Does it reconize the SWM firmware under the menus. I had an H21 that did the same thing for a while. Finally it just began to work. After a software update it's been perfect.Where's the PI? What splitters are you using? Post more information back here and we will try to help.

rg59 can be touchy on long runs.. you could allso try pulling power on all the recievers, then power up the trouble one 1st then the others.. this may help it grab the better channels..

oK.. I did this, I'll keep an eye and see if this helps.

As far as additional equipment, I have the PI in the garage with plenty of RG6 cabling spooled to create the distance in line between the PI and SWM unit. The PI is on it's own line for the time being with a 2400 mhzs splitter splitting the signal for the HR20 and the HR21. I'll have to check software. As I said before, this happens with both boxes as I have flipped them out to start to diagnose the problem. As far as the splitter goes I have a Digital 2 way splitter that if 5-2300.

I have a SWS4 Power Pass splitter on the way to see if that helps with the issues also.

FYI - HR21 Software is 0x235 downloaded on 6/12
SWM Firmware is 1.0.8

If the splitter is after the PI, it doesn't matter if it is power passing, since the PI has a DC block and after the PI, DC isn't used. The 2.3 MHz needs to pass, so if your splitter doesn't pass this [or attenuates it too much] then try it without the splitter to see if it's the probelem.
