The SWM8 is for the Slimline-5 dish (although I guess it could work for any dish). The SWM side is compatible with the HR2X, H2x, R16, R22 and D12 (IIRC). The SWM8 has 3 legacy ports (to allow it to be used with non-SWM compatible receivers, like the R15), however, just like with a multiswitch, you would have to run 2 lines to your R15.
SWM8 Install Question
Does the SWM8 require a particular dish to be used? I am trying to get a system installed with the SWM8 and am being told by the installers that it requires a particular dish - I had never read that on here before.
Also, the SWM8 is compatible with the HR20 and R15, correct? The installer is telling me it only works with an HR23, which to my knowledge does not exist.
I think the installer just doesn;t know what he' doing and doesn;t want to even try.
Any thoughts???

BTW - Big Celtics fan.....was sad to see the Lakers get destroyed in the finals. I was hoping it was going to be closer.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I'll need to upgrade my R15 and R10.
(And to krock918316, that was a pretty sad showing by the Lakers. Hopefully we'll be battling it out again for the next several years - but with a different result!)

As krock918316 said, the R15 will work fine using two of the legacy ports. I had one connected to a SWM5 this way before upgrading to a HR21.
