I'm interested in the new SWMLine dish and specifically the ability to diplex OTA signals with the SWM built-in.

I currently have a Channel Master 4228 with a Channel Master 7777 pre-amp for receiving OTAs (hooked into an AM-21). If I went with the SWMLine, would I still be able to use my Channel Master 7777 pre-amp without hurting the SWM?

I think the wiring would be something like this:

SWMLine ODU ---> PI-28 ---> Splitter (for other receivers) ---> Diplexor (combining OTA + SAT) ---> Diplexor (splitting OTA + SAT) ---> SWM Port of HR21

Channel Master 4228 ---> Channel Master 7777 Pre-Amp (Outdoor) ---> Channel Master 7777 Power Supply ---> Diplexor (combining OTA + SAT) ---> Diplexor (splitting OTA + SAT) ---> ANT Port of AM-21

This would only be diplexing the OTA signal for one receiver (one output of the splitter downstream the PI-28).

Correct?

What you want to do is exactly what I have setup. I am using a CM 7777 as an amplifier. It works perfectly. I take the output from the CM 7777 and the output from my power inserter and put them to a CM 4002IFD diplexer. Then to an STS-4 splitter. and the ends of the legs I have CM 4001IFD as splitting diplexer.

I"m also doing the exact thing you're suggesting.

As VOS pointed out, diplexing before splitting the line out of the PI will give you antenna on all your lines. IN my case, I am diplexing after the splitter for a couple of reasons. I have an R16 in the livingroom, next to my HR20, which is a little picky, and I found it just works better with no diplexing involved. This was fine for that room because I had 4 lines running there already (I've always had 2 DVRs there.). I abandoned 2 lines, used 1 for satellite, and used 1 for antenna, and the R16 is happy.

On the other leg of the splitter, I'm diplexing OTA into the bedroom, where I only had 1 line (and where running additional lines would have been a hassle).

Either way... as long as you're keeping the PIs separate, you're all good.
