Temporarily Deactivating Receivers

1187 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  boba
I have four receivers (HR20, two H20s, and a R15). Now that football season is basically over, I want to deactivate two of those receivers (one H20 and the R15) until next September. However, all my receivers are leased and the CSR I spoke to claimed that it wasn't possible without getting some fee for not returning the boxes. Is there any way for me to temporarily disabled two receivers without returning them that anyone knows about or has been successful with? I just don't want to pay that extra $10 a month I would be paying for those two receivers that will never be used.

Any ideas are appreciated

It was my understanding that once a leased receiver is deactivated, it must be returned to D*. They will send you a FedEx box with pre-paid shipping, but if you don't return them, they hit you with a stiff fee. I'm not sure of a way around that.
You signed a contract to lease the receivers, if you are not paying the lease fee you are in violation of that contract. You have two options pay the small lease fee or return the leased receivers. After you return the receivers you can buy some used receivers and then activate and deactivate at your disgression.
