I just got a DISH 622 and I am using two TVs with it. If I want to add a third set to the system, would something like a Terk Leapfrog LF-30 Wavemaster work pretty well to send signal to a third set, or are there better ways of getting this signal to a third set one floor higher or lower than the "master" unit?

If you have the cabling already in place, just put a splitter on the RF TV2 output. If not, there are several wireless transmission alternatives out there, but I've never used any of them.

If you can use cables, I would. But if you can't, then the leapfrog should work.

I helped somebody install a leapfrog on a DirectTV system and it worked fine for her. You lose some of the audio/video quality since it's not a 'hard connection' but it's fine for average viewing. Check the stats on the reception range for the different models and get one that can go a little further--just to ensure a good reception. Also consider any building materials in the floor/ceiling that are between the receiver and the TV.

I use an X-10 transmitter with composite video out and L&R audio out from the dish receiver...I have X-10 receivers on multiple TV’s throughout a two story house and they work great...only possible problem is that they are 2.4 GHz, so you could get interference from your cordless phones or wifi stuff that transmit on the same frequency... BTW the PQ is better than with an RF connection and the audio is two channel.

I'm not sure what frequency the Leap Frog is, but my Radio Shack wireless transmitter/receiver is 2.4GHz and the microwave interferes with it.

I was using the 2.4 GHz Terk Leapfrogs and was relatively happy with them until I added a home computer network. They interfered with each other so I upgraded to the 5.8 GHz units.

My satellite installer saw that I had the Terks in place, and he asked me how I liked them. He said that another customer of his tried them and that they didn't work well for him. He suspected it was because he was trying to transmit from one floor to the other, unlike my single-story needs.
