Well, as of today I finally lost my ABC distant (I was hoping they had overlooked me). The Terre Haute area does not have an ABC channel, yet strangely enough, when I called NPS to subscribe to their distants, I was told I would have to go through the waiver process. The rep. didn't have any information on what ABC network they would send my request to. Then I discovered that Decisionmark was the company that helped determine subscriber eligiblty. I sent them an email to ask what ABC station they had for Terre Haute; their reply was WICD (out of Illinois).

I then emailed Dish to ask if it would be possible to add WICD to the Terre Haute locals. For those of you living in the Terre Haute area perhaps it might help if others requested the same channel.

Considering that NEITHER DBS provider carries WICD in it's OWN market (Champaign) I HIGHLY doubt you would be getting it in YOUR'S, even if SV was STILL allowed w/E*... ;) ;)

I wasn't thinking about getting it under SV status, rather, have it added to the locals lineup since Decisionmark considers WICD as serving Terre Haute with a 'grade B' signal

Grade B isn't how a station becomes part of a market. Markets are defined by A.C. Neilson.

Personally I believe the law needs to be changed to allow satellite carriers to consider ALL Grade B stations as locals (17 USC 122 locals). It would help bring us to what congress claimed they were doing in 2004 when they passed SHVERA - equality with cable.
