Just wanted to say thank you to all the great advice in this forum. We recently had to move and had already used our Movers Connection for the year--don't ask why, just know we are really pissed at our former landlord. I just set up my slimline 5 with the help of my wife, and the info found here. Sitting back watching clean, crisp HD for the first time in 2 weeks. Thanks DBSTalk.

On behalf of the great members here, you are very welcome. I'm glad they could help.

Also glad you and your wife were able to collaborate on this. That's cool too. :)

Cheers,
Tom

+1 on the thanks. After arguing with the intaller a couple weeks ago on whether the Slimline 5Lnb could go where I wanted it to, he left it and I installed myself on Sat with many references to this site for guidance. (and many trips from the roof to the laptop!) The level of experience and knowledge on this site is great!

Now if we could just come up with a way to stop T-storms this site would be perfection! (mother nature decided to test my install last nite with 40mph+ winds. Dish needs a little aligning, but stayed attached and worked throughout the storm!!)

I am in the same exact situation, I used the Mover's program but had to move again. DirecTV wanted $199 to set up a new dish, but I just decided to take the dish with me and do it myself.

Another +1 on thanks. I just got my cable modem multiplexed into my office with the sat signal and it works great. I used instructions I found in another thread and it was a piece of cake.

I also have a spankin' new Denver Broncos DirecTV remote to point at my TV. I wouldn't have found that anywhere but here.

Thanks again.
