The "greenies" are back.....

Last night right at the end of NCIS this started............

the 622 switched over to CBS when the next recording started and the problem was there also. Both are on 129 tp18 and had a good signal ~83.

Our 622 does this as well on the locals 1 or 2 times during a 1hr broadcast. I assume it is a mpeg4 encoding issue, or a local uplink issue.

I have this at times too. It mostly seems to be on the HD locals, but I have seen it other places too. Some days are worse than others and signal strength doesn't seem to be the problem. At least it doesn't last very long most of the time.
I get the greenies since I've owned my 622,only on ocassion, but seems mostly when the unit has been running for many hours and when pushing HD, mainly OTA but occasionaly dish HD.
I think it's possible this is due to heat build up, and the processor is starting to quit.
This unit gets too hot.
Only a guess.
Over the months I have had "it" on HD locals and also national SD channels (Speed, Fox, etc)...........It seems that it's not exclusive just to HD

Yesterday when this happened the 622 was on for a few hours before and about2 hours after. The whole time frame for the problem was about 15 -20 minutes, then it was gone and the we were still watching TV for about 1 1/2 hours. If it was a heat build up then it must have cooled itself down.
I don't think it is head build up. I have seen this too but not for a 15 to 20 minute period. Maybe we can get some correlation Steve. Next time you get it. Jot down channel, time and duration and maybe someone was watching at that time and could correlate if they are also seeing it.

Was this live content, Delayed, or recorded?
The reason I suspect an overheating processor is the tremendous heat generated by the 622 and I've seen overheated video cards in computers react simularly.

Me, too, but more so since 3.63 and 3.65 were downloaded. Rarely had greenies with 3.60 and never on SD! Now I'm seeing greenies alot on both HD and SD.:new_Eyecr

Somebody needs to come up with a green pixellation smiley!
dbconsultant, my experience is the same as yours. Didn't happen a lot until recently.
Same here -- for the most part. Mine is almost exclusively on ABC HD, Dish not OTA. Just started happening with some frequency and increased disruption in the last 2 to 3 weeks. Am in communication with Dish Quality about it.
Same here- always on Abc mpeg hd station from Dish in Houston. I have been seeing this happen more and more since the last two software updates. Two weeks ago during Desperate Housewives I counted up to 10 green screen/pixelations lasting between 5 - 20 seconds. Last week during Desperate Housewives, I had only one green screen lasting 5 seconds but the overall picture quality of the hd show looked like analog cable -NOT HD. It was full of static and noise in the picture just like old ota or analog cable. So I wonder what is going on with Dish and the green screen problems.
