It's a guide data issue ... The first 4 showings of the season debut don't have the HD tag. Just go to the season debut and press record.
The Walking Dead, Not Recording on Debut Sunday
I'm new to Directv and I love it. It's way better than TWC. I have the HR34. It's a little buggy, but I still like it. I'm trying to record the new season of The Walking Dead that starts on Sunday at 6pm. For some reason, the HR34 doesn't wants to record the season debut on Sunday at 6pm. The DVR wants to record the first episode next Friday (19th) at 7pm. I have the DVR set to record First Run. Has anyone else have this problem with The Walking Dead? Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

Uhm. I was watching Bar Rescue on Spike last night and the cross-promote ad for Walking Dead on AMC came on saying the new season starts next sunday.
I had the same issue. I resolved it by deleting the series and scrolling to this Sunday's premiere and re-adding the the series again.
Been missing this series for a while. It's one of the few Television programs that I actually watch full time.
The guide is still mess up. Now, it's not tagging next Sunday show.
Another fyi: for those that have a season pass for American Horror Story, note that the 2nd season has a new title (American Horror Story: Asylum) and a new season pass needs to be set.
I hate when they do that.

The good thing is they are running all the previous episodes so I can get them recorded again after my hard drive crashed this summer, losing all the old ones I had recorded.

It wouldn't record any showing tonight. It decided to grab one on the 19th instead. I caught it while the first showing was airing and set it to grab the second showing. Not the first time I've had guide data issues on direct.

I had to get the 2nd showing after the fact. I didn't know that it didn't record until I went to watch it later. I checked the history and it said that the original showing was canceled because another showing of the same program was set to record. I assume this was because the same episode was also recording next week?
I had the same issue as well. Unfortunately I had to watch the show through other means.
Why??? Its on like 50 times over the next week or so and it must have been on like 4 times last night alone. Mine was set to record it much later in the week as well...it seemed to be the 1st episode that had the HD next to the title, even though my SL doesnt specify HD.litex2x said:I had the same issue as well.
