I am thinking about switching from Dish to Direct and would like some input.
I would like to get an HR34 and HR24 and 3 H25's and would like to know what all i am going to need before i order to make sure i get everything required for for this set up. So any info on everything that will be required for this to work properly would be appreciated.

You would need a 4 way green label splitter and an SWM16 multiswitch with power inserter, and SL3 or SL5 Slimline dish.

I just switched and got a hr34. The receiver is very slow compared to dish 722. Hopefully they get that fixed. I like the idea of how it works just not the current state of operation.
Why are you switching?
I wanted nfl sunday ticket, otherwise would never have switched.
Of course maybe I am just so used to how the dish equipment works that I am a little picky now but the dish equipment is better in my opinion. I have not tried the hopper system but have heard good things about that.

And don't forget more splitters for the CCK or Wireless CCK . . . 8 tuners max on each output of the Swim 16. DECA units don't count (up to a max more that you'll probably see.)

HR34 has 5 tuners, HR24 has 2 and H25s have 1 each.

I hook the internet to the HR34 myself, but I guess wireless is more convenient.

We have been with Dish since 94 and currently have a 622 and 722k.
Think it is time for a switch, the whole home set up sounds good and
tired of the disapearing channels and part time regional sports network.
My son and I are Nascar fans and would like the Nascar hot pass and
Dish does not have it.
