Other than going through all the gyrations of setting up a manual record, is there a way to setup a series link to record one time slot per day?

Some of the programs I record carry the same generic description for each and every episode. It would be handy to have such an option in the series link setup.

It would have to be a new type of manual recording, but I think it's got merit. My cable DVR does this: Record all on this channel or record all in this time slot. The first option is more like a DVR tracking a show that may move, the second is a manual recording limited to that slot and captures anything playing. The current option is "Manual Rec.", the new option could be "Rec. Timeslot" and the screen could explain it's purpose.

I believe the following item in the wish list would help accomplish what you are looking for.

SERIES LINK setup options: RECORD: [First Run/Repeat/Both/All with Duplicates]; RECORD THIS TIME SLOT ONLY?: [Y/N]; RECORD THIS WEEK-DAY ONLY?: [Y/N]; KEEP AT MOST: [1/2/3/4/5/10/ALL]; WHEN LIMIT REACHED: [Delete Oldest/Stop Recording]; AUTODELETE WHEN DISK FULL?: [Y/N]

I'm not a tivo hugger, and God knows the last thing I want to do is turn this thread into YET ANOTHER tivo war, but I have to say that tivo always gave the option for reoccuring manual recordings of a timeslot on a particular channel. You could set them to be daily or weekly.

It's a shame DirecTV hasn't given that to us, even though I personally don't need it anymore. A long time ago when I had playboy, I used that to record the Saturday & Sunday night uncut movies every week. The feature was very handy!!
