I have one of those "atomic clocks" on my wall, and I periodically [and automatically] update the time on my PCs via the Internet. My PCs and atomic clock always agree, timewise.

This morning I noticed that my R15 was 2 minutes behind the atomic clock. Just for the heck of it, I reset the R15. Immediately after it was finished booting I checked the time on the R15. It agreed with the atomic clock. I walked away, and came back in less than 5 minutes. The R15 clock was again 2 minutes behind the atomic clock.

I went out for a few a hours, and have just come back. Now, the atomic clock and R15 clock agree again.

What gives?

Most likely explaination is that your R15 was travelling close to the speed of light and experiencing time dilation effects.

Next most likely is the clock in the R15 is not very good (I bet it's a software clock....) , but resets to the sat signal periodically to correct itself.

I'm curious to know what time the TV industry uses anyway, as all schedules and show times seem to be just slightly off from 'real' time.

I think it's what ever clock they want to. I don't know if this was because of daylight savings time or the network but all my FOX line up for Sunday night (Simpons, Famliy Guy,etc) was off but 2 mins or so (they where starting 2 mins late). I wish there was some TV union to make them all start on time.

But, I live in a mobile home park. We're not supposed to go > 15mph :)

Agree, but sync'ing is such a simple thing. They ought to be able to do it every 5 minutes without causing any undue hardship on the system. Even the most rotten of software clocks ought to look under that rate of sync'ing.

I've noticed that, too.
