I can't find the old thread about advanced search examples. And, I can't figure out how to restrict a recording to just a specific time.

One example: I want to record NFL Total Access, but when set to series record, I think it records the initial plus the 4 repeats for the day. I just want it once per day.

Is that possible?

Yes, it's called a manual recording.

Menu - Recordings - Manage Recordings - Manual Record.

Why? It does exactly what you're asking.

And can't you choose First Run in a regular SL? Or is the guide data not accurate for that show?

Thanks, but I've been through the FAQs and the Boolean search tutorial.

The series flags don't seem to be in use by NFL Network or a lot of shows on ESPN.

The manual record assumes the show airs on the same day/time. Which it does not.

Total Access does, that's how I record it. I also record "Around The Horn and PTI in one 1 hour block.

Total Access does at 4:00 PM Pacific Monday through Friday, that's how I record it. I also record "Around The Horn and PTI in one 1 hour block. They are sometimes preempted by a live event so they aren't on at all that day.
