Tips about HD equipment: Lightning/Surges
I've notice a few thing over the past year and a half about how Directv HD equipment reacts to lightning hits and power surges.
No signal levels Ka/Ku after lightning hit it's the LNB or BBCs if not getting Ka band,also check multiswitch via bypassing one/two lines.
Noticed it only blows the ports on the LNB where a wire is attached,in other words if you only had one or two lines connected to the LNB the other ports are still good!
If the receiver light won't come on it's really dead,a power down reset works wonders sometimes.
A properly installed ground block and power strip will normally save the indoor equipment!
