According to Engadget Pace announced on February 24th "a global partnership will ensure that TV providers that buy hardware from Pace and software from TiVo will have almost no work left to do. In other words, it'll make way for an out-of-the box TiVo-verified platform." Pace is one of the manufacturers DirecTV uses for its set-top boxes which leads me to wonder how that may affect future D* boxes. Does this mean we'll see new DirecTivo boxes on a more regular basis and on more current versions of the Tivo software? It should be interesting to see what if anything D* has to say about this announcement.
